A COVID-19 Update From Our President – October 2020

Dear Policyholder Members,

We want to keep you updated on the happenings of your company as we move into the second wave of COVID-19.

As an essential service, South Easthope Mutual will continue to operate as we have while the pandemic continues. For the foreseeable future, our offices will remain closed to the public. This will help us to maintain our operations and service to members while helping keep our employees and members safe and minimizing the spread.

While our agents and staff are limiting in-person meetings, we continue to be just a phone call or email away from responding to your policy questions and claims needs. Your agent or broker is your best source of information if you have questions. We remain safely able to process mail, issue cheques and print policies.

We continue to closely monitor recommendations from our local board of health. As the situation changes, we will adapt as needed.

We still get the odd question about auto premium relief through a one-time refund. We will continue to follow our regular practice of determining whether or not a refund of premium to members is possible, at the end of the year.

As we approach our 150th year of business, we reflect on how our members and communities have been through good times and bad times over the years. We have been with you throughout and will continue to be there as your company.

I’d like to personally thank you, our policyholder members, for your patience and support of South Easthope Mutual through what are trying times for everyone. Please stay safe and stay healthy.
